Everyone’s Out To Get Me
Everyone’s out to get me. Or so I think sometimes. Really, how ridiculous is that thought?
But that’s what I think every now and then. Some how I convince myself that everyone, from people in traffic with me, to those in front of me in the checkout lane, to people just randomly walking by - have secretly met and strategically formulated a plan to aggravate, annoy, and bring me to the edge. When in reality, it’s just my perception.
Perception can be a real problem point. The conspiracy I think that everyone has against me is in reality a perception I have built up in my own head. I guess that’s a kudos to me for being so creative, but nah. It seems a lot of problems we have in our lives - from stress, anxiety, worry, aggravation, irritability, and so on - is the result of our own minds and perception.
I heard a saying years ago that’s something like - Your perception isn’t necessarily truth, but your perception is reality. That hits hard because the reality we live in many times isn’t truth. It’s a conceptual lie we have sold to our own minds.
Everyone’s not out to get me, but everyone’s just trying to live in their own reality. which means I can change my reality when I let go of perceptions.
