Alright - I'm gonna try to make this spiritual... Nah I can't... I just wanna see this movie... Anyone wanna go this Fri??? _________________________________________________ March 29, 2010 Home stretch... - Easter Sunday one week away. We still have a lot of practice left. We are really trying - as a worship team - to make this Sunday a truly worshipful, beautiful experience - so that means hard work to make things flow. Although we are just doing 4 songs - 5 total, cause we are repeating one - shooting for quality is more difficult than quantity. Just to warn - these are not typical Easter songs. I guess a warning is not really necessary cause we are not reaslly a typical or traditional church. Also - schedules! We had our quarterly leadership planning meeting last night - and the calendar is FULL. Better than being empty I guess. The list of events and activities will be up on the site soon. _________________________________________________ March 26, 2010 Seems to be a new thing. Life is full of transitions - daily. Eveyone's an expert at something you're not. Everyone likes to vent on the internet - especially facebook. So - I want to say - I like change - I'm not an expert at anything - I WILL not vent on the internet (this doesn't count). Peace _________________________________________________ March 22, 2010 Easter is Apr 4th. Usually that means - cantata time! Canata = a choral composition, either sacred and resembling a short oratorio or secular, as a lyric drama set to music but not to be acted. We aren't really traditional enough to pull off a cantata - but we can pull off a few new songs. This year, the theme of Pastor Chad's sermon will be, "Die In Order To Live" - and the theme of the new music will be, "Beautiful" It may seem that together they have nothing in common, but really they go hand in hand. The new songs are about * The beauty of what Christ did - giving His life so that we could have life. * The beauty of how our world changes when we accept Christ. Hopefully, the songs will be incorporated into our regular worship services. It's such an honor to be able to use original songs in our worship services. I've been writing songs for years now (whether they are good or not is subjective) - they mostly have been about personal experiences, and that includes personally learning how to worship a God so big and gracious, when I'm so small and at times, ungrateful. This Easter, I encourage you to gear up. Gear up for worship. Get ready to rise above complacency. Don't wait for others to sing loud first. Be a leader when it comes to worship. Think about the beauty of what Christ has done for you and the beauty of your life now. Think about how Christ died in order for you to live and how you must die in order to live. ![]() ![]() |
